Founded in Cyprus by experienced film industry professionals, and collaborating with reliable partners in Europe and the United States, Blunatic Pictures focuses on the development, production and promotion of a diverse range of film productions. Despite their diversity, all our productions share two indispensable elements: high quality and marketability.

Founders

Blunatic Pictures is owned and run by Dr Christina Georgiou (CY), an award-winning film composer and screenwriter, and the acclaimed director/producer Daniel Pace (US). Their teamwork has already produced a number of short and feature films and is dedicated to maintaining the company's principles: inventiveness and efficiency.

Beloved Days (Documentary)

Documentary Feature about the film "The Beloved" (starring Rachel Welch), that was shot in Cyprus in the 1970s. Directed by Constantinos Patsalides. Sound design and music by Christina Georgiou.

Blunatic Pictures collaborates with selected professionals in the United States and Europe, thus offering a larger scope of services and opportunities to its clients, cut to measure according to the requirements of each project. Our collaborators include production and audiovisual companies, as well as selected freelance professionals.

Daniel Pace

Daniel Pace was born in Argentina and migrated to the United States in the early 1980s. In 1993 his incursion in film began when he wrote, produced and directed a 16mm feature film titled 'Twisted Fate', which was distributed on video. Soon after, Daniel wrote and produced '14 Ways to Wear Lipstick', a 35mm feature on a very limited budget. The film premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in January 1999 and participated in festivals such as the Bangkok Film Festival, the Arizona Film Festival, the Independent Feature Film Market, and the Ohio University Cinema Guild.

His feature film, 'The Appearance of a Man' (2008), was screened in festivals worldwide, including San Diego, United Kingdom, Orlando, Monaco, Sedona, Egypt and New York, receiving numerous awards, including the Heineken Red Star Award and awards for Best Lead Actor (San Diego Film Festival) Best Dramatic Feature (DIY Film Festival and Indie-Fest), Best Cinematography (Monaco International Film Festival) and the Special Jury Award (Orlando Hispanic Film Festival). His latest works as director/producer include the short films 'Genesis 2:26' (2011) and 'Rupert's Ship' (2013).

Christina Georgiou

Christina Georgiou (PhD) is an award-winning composer, screenwriter and producer, Berlinale Talents Alumna, Member of the European Film Academy and adjunct faculty at the University of Nicosia and the University of Cyprus, teaching screenwriting and sound production for film. She is a graduate of King's College and City University London, and has also received training in programs organized by the EFA, Midpoint Institute, Mediterranean Film Institute, ERT, the Lithuanian Academy of Arts, the London Screenwriters Festival and Transmedia Next. Christina has also served as Artistic Director of the Children and Youth Section of the Cyprus Film Days International Festival.

With more than forty projects under her belt, Christina has contributed to acclaimed shorts, features and TV series and has received, among others, the Best Soundtrack Award at the Monaco International Film Festival in 2008 and the Big Audiovisual Award at the Micrografi Competition in 2014. In 2019 she was voted Musician of the Year by the MFA in Cyprus. As the CEO of Blunatic Pictures, Christina also produced a number of shorts and features, including the Greek/Cyprus/Albanian co-production Holy Boom (2018).

In 2021, Christina completed her debut documentary feature, which she directed and produced, titled The Stray Story: A dogumentary. The film, which was shot in Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Florida and the U.K., with the support of the Independent Productions Program of the Cultural Services of Cyprus, received thirteen international awards, has been approved for school screenings by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus and is available on major streaming platforms.
